I don't have a great deal to talk about right now other than to mention some of the details from a conversation I had with the Executive Director of CARA today. Betsy Armstrong seems to be doing a great job with CARA so far, and I wanted to pass along a couple things she mentioned.
First, there is a great seminar coming up this weekend. CARA has just about every local expert around, as well as some from out of town flying in, to speak about running on Saturday. The topics range from shoes, to physical therapy, to running form/gait, to medical issues. I believe they have everything covered. It's at UIC on Saturday from 9am-3pm, Anyway, you can find out more information, and rsvp at www.cararuns.org.
I won't be there, because I'll be in Green Bay, getting ready for the half marathon. But, as they say, if I were in town, I'd be there.
CARA was also offering the opportunity to sign up for the LaSalle Banks Chicago marathon, even though it is already closed. You could get an entry by joining CARA, but by the time you read this, that has probably already filled up. The marathon mania is crazy I tell you! But, there is a chance they still have a spot or two and you can check it out by going to the same website I mentioned above.
So, that's all I wanted to mention for now. I'm looking forward to Green Bay and I'll tell you all about it next week. Til then, enjoy the Main Course 10k or whatever you run this weekend, and I'll see you out there on the roads.....
